I began building computers about eight years ago. The computers that I build are high performance and built to last. Comparatively, my computers are a Mercedes next to Dell’s Kia. The secret to building a great computer is using high quality parts; motherboards, power supplies, hard drives, memory, video cards, and too many people underestimate the need for a quality case.

Another advantage to having a custom built computer is the way I install the operating system and partition the hard drive. Having the operating system on another partition from your data is a way of protecting your data in the event that the operating system crashes (and at some point in time it probably will). I also change the default programs download folder, so programs are installed on a separate partition from the operating system. And I change the default My Documents folder, so it too is separate.

Being a power user of Microsoft Office programs I can create custom templates that make life easier. It is amazing how many shortcuts you can create on a computer if you only knew how to do it. I can help with that.
